In spite of an intense GSMA campaign urging mobile operators around the world to implement NRTRDE by the 1^st October 2008, only some ten percent claim to be NRTRDE ready today.

The fact is that most operators do not see a compelling reason to allocate resources to satisfy another industry “technical” requirement. In the absence of any commercial upside, why throw good money after bad trying to comply with these new fraud standards? The perceived absence of a business case for NRTRDE has operators scouting for the cheapest possible solution on the market just for the sake of compliance.
