Countdown timers are near zero for live TD.35 file exchange in compliance with the GSM Association’s NRTRDE initiative. The deadline is 1st October 2008, and right now just over 100 mobile operators are ready to send and receive the TD.35 format.
So what next? Just how many of these NRTRDE ready operators can correctly process incoming TD.35 files? More than just getting access to TD.35 data in near real time (for fraud detection), operators need to rapidly analyse critical data so they can effectively and consistently manage irregular subscriber activity on their networks.
In fact only a minority of network operators are prepared to filter and process incoming TD.35 streams for the purpose intended by NRTRDE: fraud detection. This is telling of our level of preparedness to curb fraudulent behaviour in partner networks!
The crux of the argument is fraud management. There are several traditional Fraud Management System (FMS) vendors in the market selling full-featured, complex, much-hyped systems which could overcome this dilemma. However, the GSM Association maintains that the NRTRDE process must be simple to keep costs down, and to help facilitate the adoption by operators unequipped for high levels of complexity.
There is a simple and affordable way to meet the primary aims of the GSMA without the need to deploy a complex FMS, or even upgrade your existing one. A system giving immediate access to critical information at a fraction of the cost of a full-blown “total” FMS. In addition to supporting NRTRDE, an innovative platform which will handle your domestic traffic, and even rate your calls.
