Dealer Fraud A fraudulent dealer will sell equipment or services to a subscriber against the terms of the contract, depriving the CSP of revenue. The fraudster is able to create false subscriber accounts and reactivate cancelled accounts thus generating an undeserved commission.

Remote Activation Fraud On obtaining dealer connection details and SIM card(s), the fraudster will phone in false subscriptions and have the SIMs connected. Debts will be incurred against the fraudulent subscriptions and the CSP will lose revenue.
Theft & handling stolen goods – box splitting –similar to SIM card cloning See SIM cloning, subscription fraud, stolen handset. Equipment Identity Register (EIR) will combat handset theft by listing blacklisted/stolen IMEIs. Deactivate obsolete SIMs.
